I have never had a, " little mill" but once you get a mill dialed in with the correct media and charge with (dry) chems it doesn't take long to mill powder to it's peak power. some have tested powder every 1/2 hour and found that a correct mill will get it done in 2 hours. That's about what I let mine go. give or take a few.

Never ever ball mill potassium perchlorate and aluminum together in a ball mill. There are only a few mixes of components that can be mill together. Always use saftey first when using a ball mill. As far as placement of your mill, the ideal distance is probably around 150ft or more away from any buildings of any sort. If you can barricade it that's even better (things like sandbags). If you have it running the right speed, it will grind. It shouldn't be running so fast as to run up the side of the wall and drop from a height. Fluidized bed effect is what you're shooting for.
